Maharaja Sriram Chandra Bhanja Deo University (MSCB University), formerly North Orissa University, is a well-recognized institution in Odisha. It is one of the best universities in North Odisha, serving as a key institution for tribal education and holds a strong reputation, especially in the Mayurbhanj and Keonjhar regions. MSCB University is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and affiliated with organizations such as the Bar Council of India, Distance Education Council (DEC), Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), and the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). The university is accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with an ‘A’ grade. In 2023, the Odisha government merged the second campus of MSCB University, located in Keonjhar, with Dharanidhar University. MSCBU’s jurisdiction covers 56 colleges including 2 Autonomous Colleges, 1 Medical College, 1 Teachers’ Education (B.Ed.) College along with 26 P.G.
