KISS Deemed to be University (Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences), Bhubaneswar

KISS Deemed to be University is considered a great institution, especially for tribal students and those interested in social sciences, tribal studies, and community development. KISS is the world’s largest fully residential educational institution exclusively for tribal students. Over 30,000 tribal students receive completely free education, accommodation, food, healthcare, and vocational training. It is a UGC-recognized Deemed to be University since 2017. KISS deemed to be University has received UNESCO Chair on Indigenous Peoples’ Rights and has Special Consultative Status with United Nations ECOSOC. It has Close association with KIIT University means shared access to excellent infrastructure and facilities.
+2 courses are offered at KISS School level, but not directly through KISS Deemed University. Students from tribal backgrounds can pursue free education in +2 through KISS. After +2, students can continue their UG, PG, and research programs under the Deemed to be University.
KISS is a fully free residential home for 80,000 students in Special Consultative Status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) since the year 2015. It is registered under Societies Act XXI of 1860. Its higher education unit, KISS Deemed to be University has been declared Deemed to be University under Section 3 of UGC Act, 1956 by the Ministry of Human resource development, Government of India, New Delhi since 2017. KISS has been conferred UNESCO King Sejong Literacy Prize 2022 for its contribution to preservation of indigenous languages.
