Sri Krushna Chandra Gajapati (S.K.C.G.) Autonomous College, located in Paralakhemundi, Odisha, is one of the state’s oldest and most esteemed educational institutions. Established in 1896 under the patronage of Raja Shri Goura Chandra Gajapati Narayana Deo, the college has a rich history of contributing to the educational landscape of the region. Originally affiliated with Madras University and later with Andhra University, S.K.C.G. College became one of the inaugural five colleges affiliated with Utkal University when it commenced operations in November 1943. Since January 2, 1967, the college has been affiliated with Berhampur University. The institution gained autonomous status in 2002, allowing it to independently design curricula, conduct examinations, and evaluate student performance. The college offers a diverse range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs across the faculties of Arts, Science, and Commerce. Sri Krushna Chandra Gajapati (S.K.C.G.) Autonomous College also offers +2 (Higher Secondary) courses in Science, Arts, and Commerce streams. These courses are affiliated with the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE), Odisha.
The campus spans approximately 60 acres and features 42 classrooms, 8 galleries, and 3 halls. It comprises separate buildings dedicated to Science, Commerce, and Arts faculties. The Library Block includes an auditorium constructed during the 1964–65 academic year. The college also houses an open-air stage, Geography Department, cycle stand, canteen, animal house, and workshop.
S.K.C.G. College accommodates students in its hostels, with the S.K.C.G. Boys’ Hostel and the P.M.N. Hostel providing lodging for 110 and 50 boarders, respectively.
